PS2 Receiver Hookup VSX D812

Hi,

I bought a ps2 and a new receiver (Pioneer VSX D812) the other day. Now I am having a few problems hooking it up.

My setup:

TV is being hooked up via a component cable to the receiver. Xbox and another dvd player is hooked up to the receiver with component cables. Now I got the PS2 and I am trying to hook it up with the RCA cables that it came with as I haven't gotten around to buying and s-video cable.

Problems:

I am not getting any sound or any video when I hook up the ps2 to the receiver with the RCA cables. I tried to hook it up to the front hookups as well but nothing. Do I need to hookup the RCA video connection to the tv to the receiver?

Or is there something else?

Yes, whatever connection is being fed to the receiver should also be fed to the TV, as this receiver doesnt upconvert. I have the 811 model myself. Also make sure that the signal select on the input is set correctly. If you are only using hte RCAs and no optical, make sure the input is set on the receiver to either auto or analog.
