Ray, check out my post a page back for tips on the challenges. I got Sheridan thanks to Sub Human as well, but I am only one challenge away from unlocking the elusive Sheridan INTRO VIDEO!!!

Derrik, no Xbox live connection? The horror! Hope to see you online soon for some racing.

Jeff, thanks for the tips. I don't feel so bad knowing it wasn't just me who struggled at first with the champion mode. Did you use a 2 or 4 stroke when you did that difficulty?

I was using the honda 4-stroke.

I have since switched back to the Honda 2-stroke. Using the settings posted above by Graeme (but with Soft tires), I am getting better times. You have to powerslide most corners, you can really knock time off your laps. I did Pharika on Legend in 3 tries. Powersliding the first corner will give you a .2 - .3 second lead. Each corner after that you can build a little more of a lead by sliding.

I havent figured out how to properly powerslide on all the tracks yet...I am stumped on Mugello. I see other HTF'ers with 6+ second better lap times on Mugello...

Good splits are 12.5, 30, and 50. If you are way over those, it will give you a good idea where you can make up the ground. You can slide the last lefthander in 5th staying >125 btw. Use hard tires/high gears. Sort of unpredictable at times, but if you can keep it on the track for one good lap...you can drop <1:30.

Tom: I still cant seem to master Mugello, but I did switch to hard tires and took 1 second off my Mugello time, and 2.5 seconds off my Suzuka time! The NSR really flies with hard tires, nearly as fast as the RC but with much better cornering.

On Mugello, do you powerslide the last right hand turn (the one before the easy chicane)? I think that turn is the one that is killing me. I can get a 51.x second split time, but still finish around 1:36.

I'm having problems with the tight right hander too. Right now I am trying to powerslide it in 2nd...staying within a hair of the inside grass. If I have a great time going and don't want to chance it...I'll just downshift and coast thru in second.

With a 51xx split...you should be in the 133 range just coasting thru that though. Once you do get thru it is WOT(wide open throttle) unit the last left hander and you can slide that in 5th, never dropping <125(never dropping under 130-135 once you get the hang of it).

How is the league gonna work? Is it team-based or solo? It should be a good time for sure.

I am really knocking down my lap times using the NSR. Hard tires, suspension both at 10, high gearing and 1400 wheelbase. I set an amazing time on Pharika today, ranked #280 on that track!

Teams might work best. Given the pretty big difference in skill levels, it might help to even things out.

Either teams, or some kind of handicapping system...
