House of the Dead 3 gun problems...

Hey, just recently dropped some extra cash for 2 MadCatz light guns and the HOTD3 game. Me and a friend opened up the controllers and much to our disappointment, we can't get past the gun calibration screen. Not sure if this should've gone in Video Game Hardware. We've tried composite because these lightguns don't work with S-video. I'm pretty sure the guns are fine, since all the buttons work. Please help!

If you're using a certain type of TV (one with a flat screen, a Rear Projection TV, or other type with a protective coating, the gun won't work.

At least that's what happened to me with HOtD 2 on the DC. I have a Sony Wega 36 HDTV ready set.

If you have an HDTV, be warned that HotD is not HDTV compatible. Strangely, the Dreamcast version was...even played fine on 480p on rear-projection sets.

It's not an HDTV or a flatscreen, in fact every light gun game prior has worked perfectly.
