Re: American Idol - Season 7
Hanson, as always, has done spot on picture commentaries, but I think he forgot one last night - wasn't Ryan Seacrest channeling Liza Minelli in Cabaret last night sitting backwards in that chair?

Balding? Cook has a lot of hair for that description, or have you seen parts of him that weren't on camera?

Re: American Idol - Season 7
I think Syesha is going home, but based strictly on last night, David Cook should actually go. While "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" was terrific, his "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing" was a DISASTER -- worst performance of the night and the season for him. Didn't care for the Switchfoot song, either.

That was soooo unimaginably bad that it could have been the theme to Armageddon. I'm not talking about the movie -- I'm referring to the actual biblical event.
I consider that to be the worst Idol performance ever, excepting auditions.

Hmmm, I think I missed that episode. I don't even remember that contestant. Sounds like it's good I don't remember it, though.

Were you on the planet? The Antonella Barba saga was resplendent with sex, drama, sex and bad singing!

I think they should keep the "mosh pit," but make it an ACTUAL MOSH PIT. I want to see blood!!!

Re: American Idol - Season 7
And I thought there was no way I could possibly dislike Fantasia anymore than I already did. How silly of me.....
That was possibly the strangest performance on American Idol I can remember. The look on Simon's face, however, was priceless!!

Re: American Idol - Season 7
There was an article recently (USA Today.com possibly) that the producers are looking at changes next season, including drastically reducing or eliminating the auditions/Hollywood Week portion. More of that footage would come during the "background" segments before the contestants performances. I really don't recall if anything was mentioned about the "pit". I don't care about the girls being there, just tie anchors to their wrists.
OK, and gags in their mouths....

It was the NYPost: RETHINKING 'IDOL' - New York Post

That Fantasia performance was one for the ages. That was simply horrendous.
