Re: American Idol - Season 7
I wonder what kind of arrangement Fox has with Archie's dad? Anyone else and the judge's would have used the words: boring, safe, predictible. Everyone else they told to step it up, bring something different. Archie brings the same old "daddy picked" old songs and they love him for it? I don't get it.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
What a train wreck Jason was tonight! I cannot believe he has made it this far. But, you know what, he will probabaly be safe tomorrow afer the way this season has gone...
David Cook did nothing for me tonight. I would have thought he would have nailed his songs with tonight's theme. "Hungry Like The Wolf"? Puh-leeze! Maybe he wants to get voted off soon, so he can do "his" kind of album???
Syesha was smoking hot tonight. Her rendition of the Sam Cooke song gave me goosebumps (although no one will top Kat's performance of SOTR for me! ). Randy got that all wrong.
David A. had his best night so far. Great versions of Stand By Me (my favorite Ben E. King song) and Love Me Tender (almost an a capella version, but with just the bit of the piano...nice touch!).
Did anyone see Carly's expression after Jason sang his first song? You just know she was thinking, "That should be me up there!"
Jason should be toast tomorrow. I am now hoping for a Syesha/David A. finale.

No doubt. He's got a really good voice obviously, but every song he does sounds exactly the same.
The whole show was weird to me...not enough rock. Even David C. came off dull and boring. How freaking weird was it to hear Teenage Wasteland cut off like that?
I thought Syesha was the best of the night and Jason by far the worst...At least he doesn't care if he gets the boot. But will he?

Re: American Idol - Season 7
As hard as Syesha worked tonight and as good as she was I really hope that she isn't going home before bong-hit boy....what the hell happened to Cook tonight?
I still don't like Archie....

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Holy shit, there was Brad Bellick right there in the audience.
I think Paula got an intervention. She sounds coherent! It's amazing to hear.
I'm watching it on delay, so the last I've heard is David A. doing Stand By Me. God, what a steaming pile of crap that was. Absolutely atrocious. I can't believe the praise this guy gets.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
So glad that Simon finally let Jason have it, Castro made me want to drive a flathead screwdriver through my skull.
This seasons done for me if he stays tomorrow.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Yeah, really. That performance of Mr. Tambourine Man just pissed me off. He's sitting up there and Brooke and Michael Johns are home.
Archie gives a terrible ending to a terrible night. The only thing I really liked even a little was Syesha's first.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
If Jason makes it through to the Final Three after those two performances tonight they may as well *cancel* the rest of the season!!
I thought Syesha had the cumulative best two performances tonight ... so I guess she goes home tomorrow ...

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Round 1:
David Cook - "Hungry Like The Wolf" - boring rendition, lacked excitement and commitment. He needs a better second song performance.
Syesha Mercado - "Proud Mary" - Looks like Syesha wants to win this thing, good performance, but vocally, I'm still not all that interested in her vocal stylings, a little shrill at times. But for entertainment, she's bringing it.
Jason Castro - "I Shot the Sheriff" - Jason looked like he found his parents' sing-along apparatus and just started singing a song just for laughs. But that's his charm, right?
David Archuleta - "Stand By Me" - His fan base is going to eat his performance up, it was a crowd pleaser. His glazy breathing has returned, but it subsided in the last 2/3 of the song, so he did his thing and put the other 3 on notice he's here to win.
Round 2:
David Cook - "Baba O'Reilly" - Vocals were a little scratchy and strained, and I didn't like the slowed down tempo for this particular song, but he should be safe this week.
Syesha Mercado - She got off quite a few big notes, and she busted out the pups, but the performance was too controlled and lifeless.
Jason Castro - "Mr. Tamborine Man" - Dude, he is so in the "Don't give a crap" zone tonight, forgetfulness is rampant for him tonight. Pretty inexcusable performance for a final four contestant.
David Archuleta - "Love Me Tender" - He made it sound very gospel-like, but it was as intimate of a performance Archie is probably capable of for his young age.
-------------
Rankings
Enjoyable
David Archuleta
Solid but could have been better
Syesha Mercado
Under-performed
David Cook
Once was enough
Jason Castro
Jason Castro should go home, but Syesha is very vulnerable to get the boot.
