Re: American Idol - Season 7

I voted for the first time this season last night, and it paid off. I'll leave you to guess who I singlehandedly saved.

I've been wanting to see the person who left leave right from the start, but I felt kind of bad when it happened.

Re: American Idol - Season 7

Not disappointed at all, but still, not the choice I'd have made this week.

I thought it was hysterical when they showed Jason yawning as he was waiting for his name to be called. He must have every stoner in America voting for him. There is no other explanation for him still being around.

Re: American Idol - Season 7

While Brooke had a rough week, I'm glad to see her survive another week. I was really worried she go tonight, and was doubly shocked she wasn't in the bottom two.

If it had to be either Carly or Syesha, I'm glad it was Carly. Would have rather seen Jason go, however.

I'm betting Cook will do the Urge Overkill version of Girl, You'll Be a Woman next week. Stoner Jason needs to do Red, Red Wine. Brooke on Summerlove. Archie on Heartlight. Syesha on Love on the Rocks.

I'm totally down with the Diamond.

Actually, Jason could probably do alright with a lot here. Solitary Man could be good--probably the Chris Isaak version.

I don't get the love for Leona Lewis. I hate the timbre of her voice, and she sang her song in a key that I found grating. Plus, I was distracted by how thick her knees were.

Ugh. I hated that. I put it on FF after the first minute or so, and it seemed to go on forever. I can't even imagine having to listen to that whole thing.

Re: American Idol - Season 7

That Bleeding Love song is #1? Alrighty, then.

As for who left... Well, America voted, but I didn't think it was anywhere near her time based on talent and performances.

Hmph...pretty surprising. Not that it matters at this point. It's Archie vs. Cook, and the rest is window dressing.

Re: American Idol - Season 7

Wow, David Cook owns the stage even when he's not singing on it. Seeing him and David A. standing next to each other to find out they were both safe was a study in contrasts. David A. appeared all "shucks" and "darn" and wide-eyed and didn't really answer the question Ryan had for him, whilst Cook cleverly said that maybe sometimes the best way to be unpredictable is to sing the song as written, which he did magnificently the night before.

I'm surprised by who went home. And by the other one of the bottom two. My two guesses the previous night for the bottom two were dead wrong, and I'm glad because I like them both better than the actual bottom two. I also like that Brooke acknowledged that she has talked too much during judgment.

I wonder if the Idols read this thread?

(If so, hi David Cook. I'd like a copy of your album that has just disappeared from Amazon. You rock. Brooke, you sing beautifully and your nerves are endearing and humanizing, and I've liked you from the beginning. Jason, dude, I love your voice and I'll buy your album, but honestly why the dreads? Syesha, you sing great and you're smoking hot, but don't get too cocky. David A., you are gonna get more ladies than you'll know what to do with at your age. Live it up. And Carly... my wife and I are hoping for a baby girl this year and we're naming her Carly if we get so lucky.)

One more thing: was Andrew Lloyd Weber the best mentor they've had, ever?! He was actually into it, provided constructive criticism, and told it like it was.
