Re: American Idol - Season 7
David A- Good song choice and good performance. The kid can sing -- no
doubt there. He bores me, though.
Carly- Started well and got shrieky again. She is singing her way right
out of the top 4. I say bottom three again.
Syesha- I thought the beginning and middle were great. She yelled the
end. She looked stunning, though.
Brooke- She started well but got shaky towards the end. My guess -- was
thinking too much. I wanted her to slow it down a bit and give it a
different vibe.
Kristy Lee- The end was great. She's a lot better than before.
David Cook- Best performance of the night. He is a star and will sell
records whether he wins or not. His arrangement this time -- eat it, haters.
Jason Castro- Surprised me. Nice job. He has carved himself a niche.
He's distinct. Will he win? Never.
Bottom 3: Carly, Kristy Lee and Syesha. My guess - Syesha goes.
"You're all gonna die...only question is when. This is as good a place to take your first step to heaven as any. It's ours. It ain't much, but it's ours. Only question is how you check out. Now, you want it on your feet, or on your knees beggin'? I ain't much for beggin'. Nobody ever gave me nothin'. So I say, fvck it, let's fight."

Re: American Idol - Season 7
I think it's going to be Carly going home. At least I really really hope so. Her shouting week after week makes my brain cells explode, as if a thousand voices suddenly cried out in terror... and were suddenly silenced.
Er, something like that.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Can't believe they are doing that tired "let's split the group up into 2 groups of 3, and have the 7th person pick which group they think is 'safe' from elimination", and then you'll have the 7th person not pick any group (and BAM! that's the one going home).

I'm sad - no more eye candy.... pout, whimper, wander aimlessly despondent... at least I can hold out hope for a playboy pictorial someday... as if...

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Even though she was eye candy, I say "Praise Jesus!!" that Kristy Lee is gone!! It's about time!
Frankly, I was nervous for a Mariah night considering the judges are always saying how everyone should steer clear of her songs but I thought everyone did a really great job with the best being both the Davids...not that I'm partial to that name or anything

Re: American Idol - Season 7
I have a feeling the Cooks of Season 7 will sell records akin to Kelly Pickler and Chris Daughtry from Season 5.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Now that my favorite is out, I have no real interest in this show anymore. It will go from live viewing to "DVR and Fast Forward" viewing.
Every year there is a person that is so completely over-rated in my opinion that as the season goes on, I actually start to actively hate them. This year is no different.
Archie needs to go. He is not ready for this level yet. If you watch his eyes droop when Ryan is talking to him he looks slightly Autistic to me.
Just my opinion. (yea, I know I am being bitter)
I know because of the pre-teen vote, we are stuck with him until the end. I just wanted to be a lone voice of reason. Someone who hasn't drunk the cool-aid about him. He just creeps me out.
What is it about this season? Both Brooke and David A are just creepy. I don't see either of them being mainstream as far as future career goes.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
If I were to wager a guess, it would be that a victorious David A. would go on to become to worst-selling AI winner. He has talent, yes, but I don't honestly think very many people would buy his album, and then actually listen to it.
Then again, the entire Miley Cyrus thing baffles me...

I am 100% with you (and have been from the get go) on Archie. I could never imagine buying or listening to his music. I am about 75% with you on Brooke...but agree her chance of selling records is to a very limited audience (again not including me). I am definitely not the demographic the show is shooting for but if Archie is the next AI then watch out Taylor Hicks - your's may not be the lowest selling AI record after all (I don't really know if it is or not, I'm just saying....)
Hanson will cringe when I say this but I really only see myself putting money down for a David Cook record at this point.....
edit - apparently it used to be Taylor but that honor now belongs to Jordin Sparks
It takes 52 pounds of pressure to rupture an eyeball...

My thoughts exactly. And the whole time, I was thinking, why are Carly and Jason looking so smug just because they are on the left and closer to the couch? Doesn't mean you're safe, didn't they notice Ryan didn't say anything about safety? Having said that, I didn't see the fake-out of having David C and Syesha swopping -- my initial thought was that since surely David Cook was safe, that the fake-out was having the safe group by the stools and the bottom 3 by the couch. Once Cook and Syesha swopped it was obvious. Also, given that David A is by most polls the favourite, that made him the obvious 'last one' in this old game.
Must say I thought Kristy actually sang reasonably well for once, but I guess by now all of them are reasonably good and she was overdue to leave anyway. Can't disagree with the bottom 3.
