Hanson! "Acceptable?!?!?!" Ramiele looked like she wrapped a dollar-store belt around a Hefty bag!
As penance, you must now do a Separated-At-Birth of Carly and Star Jones. (Seriously -- look into this.)
As for the performances. . .I think Chikezie was my favorite (sadly, I think I picked him to go home early in the Challenge). He really did something fun and unusual with the song and was totally on his game. (BTW, Hanson, have you done a Forest Whitaker shot of him yet?)
It struck me during David A.'s somnambulistic performance that I simply don't care for his voice.
Also I'm still waiting for Brooke to try something outside of her comfort zone.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
also i really need overmeyer to go.
all i see is a thinner Roseanne Barr channeling Elvis. ugh.
and david cooke, whats he trying to say with the look he has.
the worse then trump comb over and the short stubby fingernails with the bad nail polish.
and the outfits, sheesh.
i thought Archie handled his screw ups rather well.
he didnt show any panic as far as i could tell he just carried on with the song.
also i think Archie looks like a very young Monk.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Hello Everyone!
This is the very first time I have joined this thread this season.
Been rather busy on this end as always, but I have been watching
Idol since the Top 24 a few weeks ago.
Many of you may not agree, but in agreeing with what Paula said
on last night's show, I think this has been the best season of talent
so far. This is the very first time that I think there is a real talent
competition happening.
What surprised me the most this week is that my least favorite
(Chikezie) was actually the best surprise of the night and my
biggest favorite (David Archuleta) essentially crashed and burned.
It was such a disappointment for me to see David do so horribly
as I think he's leaps and bounds ahead of the others. In fact, the
local paper had a headline declaring Idol was done for this season
now that David was being pegged as a winner. Hmmm.
I think the fans will be forgiving of David and this week we will
see Kristy Lee and David Hernandez (is it two?) go home.
By the way, it is so refreshing to see Hanson posting here. Love
reading his weekly rundowns.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Ronald, from here on out, it's only one person per week, but I agree with you that it will be either Kristy Lee or David Hernandez. Both need to go quickly, along with Amanda.
Chikezie (I call him Chiclets, because he has such little teeth that remind me of Chiclets) surprised me as well, since I had him pegged to be the first of the Top 12 to go home.
I didn't believe David Archuletta would have a bad performance the entire competition. Forgetting the lyrics (3 times, no less) is nearly unforgiveable, but the song wouldn't have been much better if he hadn't. He's a ballad-kind-of-guy. If forgetting the lyrics is unforgiveable in Hollywood week and almost a certain axe, how much worse is it when you get to this stage, and certainly have more than a day to pick and learn your song?
I wasn't as crazy about Brooke last night as many others here. She was very breathy throughout, her voice completely cut out at the end of many of her notes, and she really didn't need the added pressure of the piano, which I think affected her song.
Carly -- I think she has a really good voice -- Sorry. Is it me, or does it seem like her Irish accent gets heavier each week?
David Hernandez -- puke
Amanda -- If they hadn't given the title of her song, I wouldn't have had any idea what she sang. I've been screaming for her to go home ever since she butchered that Kansas song, and I don't think she's done any song any favors since.
Ramiele -- I love her. She's so cute. I love her voice. She gets a pass in my book.
Kristy Lee -- I thought she had gone "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" on us, every bit as much as Chikezie did in his song. I love "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" but I don't love squaredancing. That was awful!

Well, "acceptable" to me is sans camel toe or egreigous color mismatches (you can't really f*up black and white).
I can see the resemblance in my head. I'll take a look. I'm also kicking around a Boy George SAB as suggested by Patrick.
Update: Aaron, I just don't see it.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
From a distance, Amanda looked like Dana Hill last night. I kept expecting her to say, "I wanna go home! I miss Jack!"

Re: American Idol - Season 7
I picked David A. to win in the pool but I'm hoping Michael Johns will be crowned the AI.
My Top 6/7 now:
Michael
David A.
Brooke
Carly
David C.
Jason / Ramiele

Re: American Idol - Season 7
So, Katherine McPhee sings, although she was dropped from her label...AND...
On a Lennon-McCartney themed week, she sings a George Harrison song - the same song that Taylor Hicks (who beat her by the way, and where is he now?) sang during the competition!
The producers need to get their heads out of their asses and do just a wee bit of research...

Re: American Idol - Season 7
I like the idea of having each of the bottom three singing. It gives the two who don't get sent home a chance to bond with the viewers again. And, it saves the bootee from having to sing during the emotional moments after the news.
As for the results tonight, I think America got it right. The bottom three was who should have been there, and David H definately was the one to go home. I know a lot of people hated Kristy's performance, and it was bad. But I think David H's singing was worse. Kristy's singing wasn't the problem with her performance, it was the arrangement and style. Of course it's all academic. Whichever of the two went home, the other is soon to follow.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
So, if Kristy sang again, did she change it up at all? Was it better? My DVR's got a new bug it loves where it thinks it's 100% full when it has nothing on it, so I am just reading along here.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Since I haven't seen this yet (and don't watch idol but will watch this just to see) what did McPhee sing? Too bad the playbook wasn't more open; both Harrison and Ringo have some penned numbers that would be much easier to pelt and provide a new twist on, as something different...
