It was written and performed by the god of music John Lennon.

Then you don't really agree with me. I don't want to hear it from anyone, Lennon included.

Yep, enough with peace and hope. More war and depression!

Re: American Idol - Season 7

Scott,

Most people who have an issue with the song don't like it for religious reasons because of the "Imagine there's no heaven" verse.

This is the first I've heard of someone not wanting to hear it for the opposite reason!

IMO they're both examples of taking a pop song too seriously. To each his own!

(To clarify: I don't mean to say that not liking the lyrics is taking it too seriously; IMO getting really worked up about it is what's taking it too seriously.)

I happen to love all nation-states so as a real nationalist I take offense to the "imagine theres no countries". Damn you John Lennon, Damn you straight to Hell (if you believed in it).

The issue is Marxism. And we all know, that brought about peace and understanding. And millions of people dead. But, now we're in forum rule violation territory.

Re: American Idol - Season 7

I'm a major Beatles/John Lennon fan who's somewhat religious but maybe the reason some people (myself included) don't totally care for it is the fact that it's...the most overrated song ever.

Re: American Idol - Season 7

What songs from the 80s do you want certain contestants to cover this week?

Danny should cover "Party all the time" by Eddie Murphy.

Brooke should do "Bette Davis' eyes"

Chikeze => Caribbean Queen

Luke => I'm All Right

Syesha => Freeway of Love

Asia'h => Let's hear for the boy

"I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar!"
