Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
Now, it looks like it'll be another final 3 tribal council to decide the money because Eliza was the first of the jury, and with 10 in the mix, no way they have a jury of 8 (too dicey to get a tie, though it's still possible to have 2 people tie with 3 people and 7 votes).

Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
It was traditionally 10 at merge with the jury starting at 9 (the first person kicked out after megre was not part of the jury).
Ever since they went to 3 finalists (which I don't like), they have had anywhere from 8-9 jurors.
I assume they have a final tie breaker that they haven't revealed yet, and haven't had to use it since Cook Islands started the final 3.
"It took me hours to make that" was one of many, many highlights. The fake idol discussion between Jason and Eliza was one of the funniest moments in Survivor history. The interesting part is that Jason was so quick to offer it to Eliza -- had he held onto it and played it later, that would have been the funniest moment in Survior history.

"It's a stick."
"I know."
"That cann't be the idol."
"Why not?"
"Because it's just a stick."
"I know. So?"
"So it cann't be the idol."
"Why not?"
"Because it's a stick."
"I know."
etc, etc, etc

John, that exchange between Eliza and Jason had me howling with laughter. In a very dimwitted way, Jason's "logic" was unassailable: he found it where the HII was supposed to be, it has a face - therefore it's the idol, no matter how unlike it is to any previous idols.
One of the best episodes ever.
And let me reiterate: Amanda - so effin' hot.

May I just ask...does anybody actually like the final three facing the jury? I still consider it the worst thing to ever happen to the show, and it's the only reason the otherwise amazing China isn't in my top four seasons.
The show has really had an issue with not knowing when to give up on twists. Exile Island overstayed its welcome (another positive aspect of China was no EI), hidden idols have provided a lot of great moments but could use a season off, the final three...terrible from the start and gets more annoying each time.

Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
I like the three finalist system because in the past few years it has enabled stonger players to make it to the final. In Exile Island the three finalists were Aran (yoga teacher and nonentity the entire game) and some woman non-entity and Terry, owner of the immunity idol and awesome challenge player (second only to Ozzie in my book). In the end the two non-entities made the final and I couldn't care less who won. Go back to past shows and add the third place finisher and almost always it would make the vote closer and more interesting.

Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
But the thing is, you can't just take the third placer and add them to the finals because if people were playing for a final three, they would drop players like Rudy, Kathy, and Rob Cesternino a round or two earlier. More likely than not, every endgame would play out like Fiji and China, with one strategist facing off against two players (s)he dragged to the end.

Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
Best episode yet. I too was laughing so hard from that exchange between Eliza and Jason. I am still a bit confused as to why she went a head and played it, knowing that it wasn't the idol. I mean she is a Survivor veteran and should know they do not skimp on the props. That was just so weird to me.
Ozzy's reaction was by far one of the best (followed by James laughing his ass off), when Probst threw the idol into the fire.
I was even more giddy when Eliza revealed that ozzy had the idol. Erik's face was like " Man that was suppose to be a secret". So funny.
We kept rewinding that whole scene over and over.
Ozzy better figure things out and start paying attention or he will get blindsided just like James did and not play the idol.
Father: She didn't say, "I'm not in" She said, "We're not in" "We," you see, "we" Now what does "we" mean.
Bobby: I believe it's the plural form, indicating more than one. Do you want me to conjugate that for you, pop? Do you know what conjugate means, dad?
