Yeah, there is some beautiful "scenery" on the island . We always watch on the upstairs SD tv because it is unwatchable on the HDTV downstairs in the theater. I did a test last week, I recorded it down there and facial features were even hard to make out!
I know enough to know I don't know enough!

The other non-HD show I complain about is The Amazing Race. That's a show the value of which would increase ten-fold with a switch to HD broadcasts.
So much of Survivor is the interplay between contestants and the reactions to events and conversations...that would be yet another reason that HD would be a big plus--besides the rather obvious forms of beauty that are found within the show's content.
There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

I haven't LOL this hard in a long time until Truck was draging Sack of Potatoes around like a ragdoll in a fit of desperation as time was running out, hitting every obstacle in the way during the pursuit.

Me too. I felt bad for that zombie look-alike Chet but boy was that hilarious or what?
This has got to be the most dangerous challenge ever right? I mean, the potential for people getting hurt was way up there. And for Jonathan to get a puncture wound like that through his leg...imagine if that was someone on his/her way down and it was an eye being puncture or something? Geez! It doesn't sound like the producers put much thought on this one.
The preview for next week's episode show Jonathan's leg to be a mess!

My son and I are currently making our way through Heroes: Season 1 and when I saw what happened to Jonathan...it reminded me of the incident involving one of the main characters in Heroes and a sharp stick:
I'm kinda surprised they didn't see the potentials for disaster in that trainwreck of a challenge, too. I know they vet these things using real people in mock set-ups...but it must be hard to duplicate just how hard the actual survivors will participate when having a steak picnic dangled in front of them!

I assume you don't have HD reception? Becuase even though it isn't HD, the HD feed looks many, many times better than the SD feed. The colors are much more vivid and when I first started watching the HD feed years ago, I assumed it was in HD.
My wife was so pissed off by Joel and his superiority complex that she cheered when he got blindsided. She really hated him and the way he treated people.
BTW, anyone catch the quick shot of Chet sobbing after losing the reward challenge?

You're not implying there's anything wrong with that, are you?! What? Are men not allowed to cry?
If they're not careful, Chet's gonna end up in the final four...kinda like Scout!

and it was almost for nothing because just as the steaks were cooking and all these people were salivating, the tide came in and put the fire out! I was LOL when that happened.

Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
Great episode--one of the most satisfying boots in a long time. Part of me wanted Kronk to stay around because he was such an ass that it was fun to root against him...but since it was between him and Chet, those two needed each other for that great dynamic, so I'm glad it was the shocker/poetic justice boot. He and Chet should totally team up for a country-wide comedy tour though.
Sorry Mike--but after last night, Cirie's back in my good graces. I still hate how she handled the Yau-man boot and the power it gave her, but the old Cirie was back last night. Of course, I know you weren't crazy about her the first time so it's a moot point.
ETA: I really hope we don't lose Jonathan, I don't know if this season can (pardon the pun) survive without him. His commentary on Probst's commentary at the challenges is one of the highlights of the season. At least he didn't leave last night and make my three favorites (Fairplay, Yau-man, Jonathan) leave every other episode at the start.

Chet getting dragged around like the useless rag doll he is was the funniest thing in years.

Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
Just watched this last night - Survivor Gold!!!! What an episode and for all the reasons previously stated: - That whole frigging challenge was awesome - the injury count made a typical NFL game look like soccer!
 - Kronk dragging poor old Chet Around - hysterical for all the wrong reasons
- Cerie working her voodoo - I am not a fan but you gotta hand it to her - she is diabolical. I think we might be giving her a little too much credit over Ozzie on this one though - after watching Kronk in that challenge and talking about who needed to go it probably didn't take Svengali/Cerie too much to make an obvious point about the danger of Kronk to Ozzie. He is not an idiot.
- The surf putting out their fire while cooking those steaks did make me laugh hysterically - I felt bad afterwards but I am still chuckling as I write this.
- Kronk's "last word" - again, I laughed my ass off. He was in complete shock and denial.
One of the best episodes in Survivor History in my book.
Careful With That Axe, Eugene
