On the other hand, maybe he asked Jacob what he needed to do next and Jacob sent him.

In addition to the game providing some misleading promo footage, their flight did start in Australia and I do think it will be key to them returning to the island (presuming that they do so) in the later seasons.

For a second there, before the smoke monster appeared, I really thought Ben walked into that room, activated something, and then appeared in the desert.

As for Australia being the key to it all, it is possible they were just talking about Risk, because it is the key to the whole damn game

This season, they also killed Naomi, Minkowski, Brandon (an off screen character that went out with Minkowski in a boat and died from the same thing that killed Minkowski), Regina, the unseen guy who shot himself in Sayid and Desmond's cabin, the doctor from the freighter, the three nameless survivors at Locke's camp that were shot and a number of the freighter people that were presumably killed by the monster.

That being said, I wouldn't consider any of them major characters. Even Rousseau.

Plus all those guys in this ep. that Sawyer was yelling at to get inside. I was thinking who are all those people? And even though we as viewers did not know them, you'd think that Sawyer and company would have known them and cared a little more that they got shot.

I was only counting the people who contributed something meaningful to the entire story, not the redshirts (like the three in Locke's camp) or the freighter commandos. (I did forget Naomi, though.)

And don't forget Sayid's wife Nadia.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Possible, but doubtful.

Didn't Charlotte S. Lewis find a Dharma bear in that same desert in her flashback earlier this season?

Re: Lost: Season Four

Good episode, but I didn't care for the smoke monster bit (although it looked cool). Seemed to cheapen the whole episode. What's the deal with that thing anyway? Does it only attack who Ben programs it to attack?

I was thinking the same thing.

You have to wonder if the writers actually have the answers to the main questions? I know they expanded and added storylines when the show became successful.

There is no doubt they do. Once the end date of the series was confirmed the pace of the show improved quickly and visibly.

They know the end game.

It's like they just threw in some extra people so they could get shot.
