Re: Lost: Season Four
I was one who did not and still don't like the idea of Aaron being one of the O6, but once it was confirmed, both in promo and by the producers in their podcast, it's pretty silly to keep denying it. We don't have to like it, but we pretty much have to accept it.

I'm glad they answered a long standing curiosity that I had about Mr. Friendly.
|
I remember after episode 3.01 I made a comment about Mr Friendly's comment that "You're not my type" was a revelation that he was gay, and was instantly leapt upon by a few people saying that that line didn't automatically mean he was gay, and he could have just been expressing his preference for blondes over brunettes, or something like that. So it was mice to have it revealed that he was, in fact, gay.
I really hope Rousseau isn't dead - if only because we need her flashbacks.

According to the timeline, Michael had 14 days between leaving the island and the Others abandoning the barracks (when Ben calls Michael on the boat, he's in his house). Seems like a very short period of time for Michael to have gotten back to civilization, back to America, then the suicide attempts, the recruitment and then the trip to Fiji and a few days on board the boat.
|
That was my thinking as well - in fact, leading up to the episode, I was convinced Michael must have time-travelled back in time (I was thinking 3-4 years, to make Walt's age line up again), just becdause less that two months did not seem like it was long enough. And, having watched the episode and seen what else he had to cram in there (crash, hospital, etc), definitely not enough time. Unfortunately, the grandmother's comment about "you're gone two months" leaves very little wiggle room for interpretation.
Meanwhile, we've got some nice confirmation about the Island's ability to reach people in the normal world - which dopes provide some clarity around Hurley's visions of Charlie in 4.01.

They could give us that, kind of, by having an Alex flashback.

Re: Lost: Season Four
I'm sure if Rousseau is dead that they do have a plan for how they will have these revelations - but I'm still hoping for her to pull through.

I'm just a little bit curious - why does it actually bother you so much that Aaron might be considered one of the Oceanic 6? I mean, I understand in the lead-up to the final confirmation that there was wriggle-room about whether or not he was O6 - which allowed last week's revelation to work - but you seem to actually be annoyed that Aaron is O6, and I can't understand why that would be the case.

Perhaps Lorien will come along and give her 20 more years also.
Oops wrong show again. I hate it when that happens.

Re: Lost: Season Four
It bothers me for the same reasons that have been stated countless times before in this forum. I'm coming to grips with it now that it's official however. Technically, Aaron was on the plane, even if he was not on the manifest; therefore he is a crash survivor. So I'm coming around.

Re: Lost: Season Four
And it's not like the Oceanic Six are some super-human crime fighting team, like the Fantastic Four (well, at least I HOPE they aren't...), it's just a typical name given to them buy the media within the show's reality.
It doesn't mean the other crash survivors aren't still alive, and it doesn't mean nobody else made it off the island (besides Ben). It simple means that those six were "officially" rescued, and that the remaining passengers are still officially dead, and further, (we can assume) The Others, and the likes of Rousseau (and whomever else is on the island...) are, as of yet, unknown to the outside world.
The big question, in my mind, is if after the rescue of the Oceanic Six, the staged crash wreckage still held any water (no pun intended), or if the fact that there was such a spectacular wreck made the survivors' stories all the more the amazing. I'm leaning towards the latter.

I don't know if it bothers me as much as I find it odd that someone who can barely talk is an integral character of the last three seasons of the series. That being said, I'm sure Aaron has some import to the story and they weren't sitting in the office one day and just said "Eh what the hell, let's include Aaron and make it the Oceanic 6".

Re: Lost: Season Four
Since the other crash survivors are presumed dead by the outside world, even after the rescue of the Oceanic Six (Jin's gravemarker bears his date of death as the date the plane crashed), I'm thinking it is perceived that their survival and rescue seems that much more amazing, and they O6 are somehow involved in the cover-up (whatever that is) and that's why it's eating on their consciences (at least Jack's and Hurley's).

Rousseau's death didn't work very well for this viewer. That "I love you" | |
