And I'm not convinced Rousseau is dead yet either.

I hope she isn't. The woman has lived for ... what is it... 16 years... by herself on the island and just gets snuffed out in an instant. Sure life can be like that, but something about how she got there, what she's been through, and how she's survived makes me pull for her to get a break more than just about anybody on the island. Remember, time on the island passes a lot slower than it does out here. How long has it been since she was formally introduced to her daughter after all this time? A week or so? And now she's gone? I hope not.
I didn't really get why Walt was living with grandma and not Michael. I don't remember anything about his time on the island that would lead me to understand him being traumatized in a way where he wouldn't want to see his dad. The last we saw, they were really happy to see each other. Then again, we also don't know how the apparitions of Walt fit in with the real Walt. There was something special about him even before he went to the island. We don't know details of that yet. Maybe leaving the island is affecting him negatively (it affected Michael negatively), and we know that in the future, it affects Jack negatively. People who want nothing more than to leave the island seem to want to get back once they do. At least some of them do.
The island prevents Michael from offing himself? Two thoughts come to mind...
1) It's difficult for me to believe Michael would attempt suicide given that his son is still alive and might need/want him at any moment. As a parent, I didn't get that one at all.
2) There's a whole new question about how an island can prevent someone from killing himself.
It's going to be quite a wait, but I'm glad the wait is in one block, then continues until end rather than the sporadic new episode, 2 repeats, new episode, 1 repeat, etc.
