Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm pretty sure I've seen it pop up at some point in at least one other episode since that awful "Hero" episode. But that's the reality of television: product placement.
It's just unfortunate that they chose to devote an entire episode to chewing gum. I would have been embarrassed to have my name on that episode if I was part of the cast or crew. I honestly can't think of a worse episode of Smallville in the seven years it's been on. There probably is one, but I've thankfully forgotten it.

From KryptonSite: Your Source For "Smallville" News And Information
Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Not necessarily in Lex's case, Jason, they could work it to where (i'll spoilerize since it will elude to others what we're talking about)

Can someone help me, please?"

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
That was much better than the "reset button" premise suggested. Probably the second best of the year. Way to go on the direction, Clark!

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
I can understand Lex shooting Clark, and Clark being hit because he didn't expect it, but you think Kara would have super sped and dodged the bullet.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
I could barely make it through tonight's "Lost" episode on my DVR, but tonight's Smallville episode via DVR kept my attention all the way through. It was just fun to see all these nods to the Superman mythos, plus planting the seeds of Clark and Lois, even if Clark is still on the lookout for a cure for Lana.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Somehow Kara and Clark don't know the first rule of killing the villain: he ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS comes back at least once, if not twice or three times. You really need to stab, decapitate, electrocute, stone and tear apart a body before you be "sure" the baddie isn't coming back.
Otherwise, very good episode.
