Tina Fey is the worst thing that ever happened to SNL, and that's saying a lot. I get tired of people treating her sex like it's a handicap. Sure, she was the first female head writer on the show but does that make up for the shocking-even-by-SNL-standards drop in quality that has occured during her reign?

Do you have any idea what it's like? Everywhere I go: "Hey Cartman you must like 'Family Guy,' right?" "Hey, your sense of humor reminds me of 'Family Guy' Cartman!" I AM NOTHING LIKE FAMILY GUY! WHEN I MAKE JOKES THEY ARE INHERENT TO A STORY! DEEP SITUATIONAL AND EMOTIONAL JOKES BASED ON WHAT IS RELEVANT AND HAS A POINT, NOT JUST ONE RANDOM INTERCHANGEABLE JOKE AFTER ANOTHER!

I saw the preview of the show on Yahoo, and it definitely looks interesting. Definitely a show that I'm looking forward to, this fall.

I have to admit, based on this thread I had no interest in this show (I don't really know much about Tina Fey - I haven't watched SNL in probably 10 years), but I did watch that preview and it does look like it has some potential. Doesn't look as good as NBC's other show with a similar premise (the Sorkin one - forget what it's called..."Studio" something).

I think you're forgetting how bad it had gotten before she took over. It's been wildly inconsistent, but occasionally very good.

I disagree, it's been just as bad. The only recent stuff I liked was the digital shorts. Fey's main problem is running a skit into the ground. They just go on and on and on. If every skit was cut in half then SNL might get good again. Plus I can't stand Weekend Update anymore. |

They still do that? Oopha. I couldn't stand that over 20 years ago back when Chevy Chase was doing it. That, and the musical performance were when I would always change the channel. |
