CSI: Miami season 4 premiere

I can't believe CSI: Miami on now onto season 4. Horatio has put to bed the issue with his brother Raymond at the end of season 3, and Calleigh was having doubts about her place in this line of work.

The previews open up with a crackling of gunfire at a funeral, how much more fun can us viewers handle? Find out tonight 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.

I doubt this thread will get a lot of discussion, but I figure someone's watching it, and its season premiere is tonight.

I liked it. Good to see Valera back. And always nice to see Branden Fehr - it looks like he's matured since his Roswell days.

I hated the slow motion camera pans that they tried to use but otherwise it was ok...nothing great but at least we get to see some new shows now instead of repeats

With the new DNA lady, is Valera stuck doing physical evidence now?

Wolfe is so getting on my nerves once again.

Calleigh didn't seem to have much going on since the end of last season where she questioned her job as a CSI. (Or did I miss something, I might have missed something in tonight's episode during the first 20 minutes).

Thought I'd ask anyone in the New York/New Jersey area if they had noticed the audio not synching up with the video at times. My girlfriend and I noticed this early on.

It was a solid episode, and it looks like it might open a long-term story arc with
Spoiler:
the new international mafia having a "green light" on taking out Horatio.

I think Valera is still doing DNA and the new lady is a Fed.

Also: That one lab that Calleigh was in at one point (the one with the light fixtures hanging from high above, if that makes any sense) looks like one of the labs in CSI:New York. Since CSI:NY is getting a new set this year, are they just recycling the old ones?

It would have been a mildly funny piece of trivia to viewers if Fehr and Rodriguez had some sort of interaction that touched on their Roswell past...I love when shows do that.

it was a good episode, but what was with the slow-motion at the begining?? When the 3 other CSI's were walking up to the scene. Did we really need to see like 6 slow mo shots of each of them watching to the scene??

The new mafia they talk about.... is it a real one? The Mala Noches?

I thought it was a solid episode, but what was H confessing about?
