R. I. P. Mason Adams

Passed away this past Tuesday (26 April) of natural causes in New York. Radio, television, theater were all part of his career. I was fascinated to find him, for example, on a National Guard recruiting program, "Let's Go To Town," when I was given a batch of unwanted 16-inch radio transcription discs.

A lot more to his resume than jelly commercials....

All best wishes to his family and fans.

I didn't know his name but I will always remember his voice, be it as the voice of Smuckers or any of the numerous other voiceovers he's done for the History Channel (America Eats: History on a Bun and it's sequel). Plus he was in the immortal Pauly Shore classic, Son-in-Law. RIP

I loved him as Charlie Hume on "Lou Grant".

Don't forget the Cadbury commercials.

And wasn't he most recently the spokesman for BigY (supermarkets)?

He also played a pretty convincing villain in the film F/X. And he continued to work in local theater until fairly recently.
