Conan in wide-screen now?

I'm watching Conan and its in widescreen, my friend who I'm talking to has it in wide too. Is this permanent?

My friend doesn't want it in widescreen she hates the black bars and just turned the channel.

It's because Conan went HD today.

Tell her to get an HD ready set then.

She said she doesn't want a hd set even though she can afford it and just bought herself a flat screen. I don't get her, she's weird. I told her in a few years, all new tv will be in wide and she said she'll just stop watching then.

Let me guess, she spends her money on VHS tapes?

it was pretty hilarious the way he talked about it, with the him blacking out the "old" areas and exposing only the new sides, and his face leaning out to them

he first brought it up by saying 'for the first time we're broadcasting in 16 by 9... all you star wars fans out there will know what i mean by that'

"now, if that's a fact, tell me... am i lying?"

Yeah Conan playing around with the wide spaces was hilarious.

I seriously doubt the show will be broadcast letterboxed from now one. Althought it was nice seeing the WHOLE 16x9 image being used for the interviews.
