Medical Investigations

The reviews in EW weren't kind, but NBC decided to pop the series preview in the ER timeslot tonight (10 p.m. EDT Thursdays), but its season premiere will be on Friday tomorrow in its normal 10 p.m. EDT timeslot.

I am on the fence on the premise (and how you can make each week something nutty and interesting in terms of medical "whatdidit").

I don't plan on watching, but what kind of stupid name is "Medical Investigation"? Took a lot of creativity making that one up!

i watched the last 40-45 minutes of the show last night...looked good in HD. the show is very similar to CSI and even the main two male and female characters have the same CSI feel to me. as you can tell i watch CSI, and my daughters, ages 3 and 5, know of CSI and it being in HD. at first glance to medi investi, they asked is this CSI dad? these type of shows interest me so i'll try and check it out tonight again, and see if it is a keeper.

I just hope this show doesn't continue along the lines of:

These people did this and a subset of them got sick, what could it be? WHAT COULD IT BE? WHAT COULD IT BEEEEE??!?!??

That could get boring quick.

Yeah, that's what my wife and I wondered.. watched it TiVOd (playing with an HD Cable TiVO like recorder now!) later, and we wondered where this show was heading. The acting is not so good (IMHO) but that can always improve.

I thought this was pretty good. But as Patrick mentioned, the exact same dramatic formula will get really old really quick if each episode follows the same pattern. If they can't find a way to change it up, I will be done with it after 3-4 episodes.

I saw the preview for this show and it looked really interesting, however these types of shows give me panic attacks and I can't watch.

SO what turned everyone blue?

Spoiler:
Sodium nitrate which accidentally found its way into table salt shipments. The blue complexion was a result of oxygen deprivation in the body brought on by the ingestion of high quantities of sodium nitrate, coupled with the consumption of alcohol.

I caught the last half hour and it seemed pretty good, I'll be checking it out again.
