New TV magazine on the newsstands: "Glued"
I saw this at Barnes and Noble today.
It's a slick, "Entertainment Weekly"-style magazine devoted to TV. The premiere issue has Matt LeBlanc on the cover. It has news, reviews, interviews all pertaining to TV.
After a quick browsing through it:
Plus: nice looking, full color, heavy weight
Minus: tries a little too hard for that "Maxim" look, needs to be a little cleaned up.
Plus: lots of easy-to-read articles
Minus: no really in-depth articles
Plus: weekly breakdown of shows to watch, with reviews on most and a bit more in-depth than EW does
Plus: reviews actually have "cajones"! only 2.5 stars for "Joey", and several 1 star reviews (new John Goodman show, for example)
Plus: TV on DVD section!
Plus: nice coverage of lesser cable/satellite channels that EW doesn't usually cover: Trio, Noggin, etc.
Minus: $3.49/monthly schedule
Overall, a pretty nice magazine, with lots of potential. Just needs a little more focus and "tweeking".
