The Man Show's new hosts

Anybody see the "new" Man Show last night? Adam and Jimmy are gone, replaced by new hosts Joe Rogan (News Radio) and some guy named Doug I've never heard of. I thought this was a train wreck. These guys seemed stiff and lifeless. You got the feeling that Adam and Jimmy were genuinely funny and played off each other, but the banter between the new guys seemed forced and flat. The writing seems to have taken a different tone also. Maybe it's just me, but where the show used to be poking fun at itself, it now seems more mean-spirited.

Perhaps the show will improve as these two get more comfortable with each other and the writers figure out how to use these guys. What did you think?

I think it's because Joe is like that on Fear Factor. He's really an antagonist. I saw part of it, Guess the Ass-crack and I agree, he was pretty mean spirited. I agree that Jimmy and Adam were more like-able as pervs. The Guess the Ass-crack segment did have some potential though.

I'd give the show some time to find their niche. I think they're trying new things with the new hosts. We'll see how it goes.

Of course, it seemed a bit off last night, but there were some bits that made me laugh a bit. But, It is hard to judge on just one show. It will take a few more episodes to determine the quality

I cringed as soon as I heard The Man Show was coming back with new hosts. Adam and Jimmy created the show and they were the reason the show was so damn funny. Joe Rogan has sat in on the Howard Stern show before and I never thought he was even mildly amusing. As for the other guy, Doug Stanhope, I've never even heard of him. I watched about 15 min. last night just to see how bad it was and not surprisingly, I thought it sucked. The show will never be the same because Adam and Jimmy are what made the show great. They worked perfectly together and are just two naturally funny guys. Sadly, I don't think I'll be tuning into The Man Show anymore, but I will be looking forward to more releases of seasons 1-4 on DVD.

Why did Adam and Jimmy leave the show?

Jimmy Kimmel of course has gig now with ABC for his own late night talk show, as well as a contract with Fox for NFL bits. He's busy.

As far as Adam, I'm not sure.

Well, I didn't need any longer than 15 minutes to confirm that these guys aren't worthy replacements. Adam and Jimmy WERE The Man Show and without them there really isn't even a show there as far as I'm concerned. It's like replacing James Gandolfini with some other fat, bald Italian guy to play Tony Soprano. Would The Sopranos be the same if HBO did that? Nope. Apparently, Comedy Central offered Adam over $1 million to come back for this season with a new co-host, but he didn't want to continue the show without Jimmy. So, Comedy Central decided to get these two new guys as replacements rather than just letting the show end. The way I look at it, Adam and Jimmy created the show and it should have ended with them rather than bringing in new hosts to continue the show's run. I'm probably a little biased, though, because I don't want to see anybody doing this show except Adam and Jimmy. Bottom line is that I won't be watching, but good luck to those who do.

Stick a fork in it, it's done.

Sincerely,

At least we still have "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "Crank Yankers".
