Sailor Moon Versions

What are the differences between the following three Sailor Moon DVD collections?

1) DIC/ADV Films - 6 eps on each DVD, ~ $10.00
2) Pioneer (uncut) - Foil-looking cover, 6 eps, ~ $22.00
3) ADV has info on their site about a new set of DVDs due out soon that seems very similar to the Pioneer version.

Thanks a lot for any insight you can provide.

Seasons 1 and 2, in the English dub version that aired on U.S. television. Cut, edited, and generally hacked up.

Seasons 3 and 4. Includes Japanese and English audio tracks, and English subtitles. Episodes are uncut, but the English dub is censored. (The subtitles are not.)

Does this mean there isn't going to be a US release with English and Japanese audio for season 1 and 2?

Gary- Thanks. That was just what I was looking for.

How many seasons were there? Are they still making new episodes?

Thanks again.

The show was ended back in 1997-98, the only one that will probably never come here, at least not on TV, is Sailor Moon Stars because they can't edit out the lesbian bits

Also because Sailor Moon is naked for most of the last two episodes (in a Barbie doll way, not an explicitly detailed way).

There are five seasons total, plus three movies that have also been released in the U.S. by Pioneer.
