On April 19th, NBC aired what I consider a historic program introducing the American people to pow-wow dancing.
Take my word for it, I have never seen anything like it before. Sure I have seen poorly produced documentaries about pow-wows but there were geared towards other dancers and those familiar with the culture.
The one hour special was filmed, in HDTV of all things, at the Crow Fair in Montana. It is narrarated by Peter Coyote and gives examples and history of all the modern dances. The show was produced by 4 directions entertainment and NBC.
Here is their web site

I ask any of you that care to go and leave feedback for NBC, World of American Indian Dance was a pilot program and 4D wishes to continue producing shows to be aired nationaly. They even want to air major dance competitions. The future will be determined by public response.
Please help.
Oh yes you can order a copy of the program if you wish, if you have the slightest interest I would do so.
