Re: Testy Area 51
"The Chris Nolan on with wolverine fighting Batman as magicians who's name escapes me?"
That's the problem with Canadian films, they fool you eh. The CBC had a soap opera series about hockey players, and they promised lots of nudity. It showed more sausage then Oktoberfest night on Gay Island. Unless I see the names "Sarah Polly", "David Cronenberg" or "Bruce McDonald", I tend to be skeptical of canuck flms... now you learned your lessong too XD

Re: Testy Area 51
Oh yeah it's Wolverine and Batman in the same film, The Prestige, by Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan.
The film also stars Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansssen and... David Bowie! [bites fist]

Re: Testy Area 51
I kinda got it right! I really liked that one. Ed Norton had a magic movie out about the same time that was pretty umm.... how to say this politically correct... I'll just say gimmicky. Sure, the prestige was preposterous, but they sold it well. The magic in the Norton one.. (can't remember the name :S) was too phoney baloney.
So whats everyones movie plans this weekend? I'm tempted to see that "Hellboy Vs. the Faries" one, but I think the movie lines well keep me locked up for "Jean Claude VanDamme Film Fest 2008".

Russ, Just received an order for some Blu-ray imports, so I'll probably be watching some of those titles. Most likely a double header of Black Narcissus and Trainspotting.
Rick, already have Batman Begins on HD-DVD; no purchases for me this week. Looking forward to The Bank Job and Dark City on Blu-ray in the coming weeks however.
- Walter.
Fidelity to the source should always be the goal for Blu-ray releases.

Re: Testy Area 51
I haven't seen Cartoon batman yet. I was going to pick it up yesterday and the dumb store wanted over $30 for it in a steel case. Buggers :S
Black Narcissus is one of those films I always meant to see, and never have.

Ohhh, yes, Dark City. That is my most anticipated Blu-ray of the year. Its right behind Blade Runner on my list of favorite movies.

Re: Testy Area 51
Really Rick? I wasn't huge on it. I'm going to pick up the DC just out of curiosity.
Any of you picking up the Brit TV series SPACED getting a release here this month? I recommend it, great fun it was. By the fellows who did SHAUN OF THE DEAD. About a guy and girl who pretend to be married in order to rent a flat. Each episode is packed full of sci fi and horror geek references which makes the already comedic stuff even better. One episode totally apes the shining. Funny!
^^^ that's quite possibly the most forced and poorly written recommendation I've ever posted.... sorry about that, it was a good series.
