Re: Testy Area 51
Cheers Cees, would you believe despite your warning I still forgot about the upcoming milestone!! How embarrassing is that? My memory is like a sieve.
I've updated the post btw.

Why would Cees give you the finger Jim?

Jim is joking. There was a story going around in certain circles (probably because I was buying into HD DVD already) that I would be opposed to Blu-ray.
At least more than normal.
Cees

Re: Testy Area 51
And why this unbridled hatred for Blu-ray Cees?
I keeed, just stirring the pot... yes I'm in the kitchen, no really why Cees? [STOP IT STEVE!]
Oh alright but if I had been an early adopter... I'd have a teenage kid living here giving me one humungous headache, whaat? Sorry um it's... saturday. I mean I'm not sure which format I'd pick. I did fancy HD-DVD before it went belly up so I'm glad I waited. 25 years ago I had VHS and a mate of mine opted for Betamax...
But I'm spoiling the party... cheers Jim, whoa 21000 posts, 700 pages, 50,000 images, a reprimand, a mutiny, 2 bans, 5 years 8 months, still here!! [falls off chair]

Re: Testy Area 51
Went to 3 movies in 2 days! I saw:
Iron Man - OK, I wouldn't rave, but it was enjoyable. I think Robert Downey, Jr. made the movie. That is one neat robotic suit, though!
What Happens in Vegas - It gets better as it goes along, but the first 10 minutes are SO STUPID!!!!!!! The characters act like idiots. Very predictable.
Redbelt - The latest from David Mamet starring Chiwetel Ejiofor as a martial arts instructor. Ejiofor is always excellent, but the story is a bit muddled to me.

Re: Testy Area 51
Russ, Liz, thanks it's great to be 21000 posts long. It's like having a birthday, I turned 45 in April, I'm getting old [sighs] but I still have my zany mad sense of humour, and that keeps me young, if I ever lose it shoot me.
I've yet to see Iron Man, but I will, hopefully by next weekend. I did see Fall of the Roman Empire yesterday, epic movie, but the picture quality looked a little muddy in places, where's the rich colour? It looked desaturated. I can appreciate the quality of Ben-Hur a lot more now after seeing this. The stereo sound was okay, Tiomkin's great music score came thru fine.

Re: Testy Area 51
Do you like gladiator movies Steve?
I'm Spartacus! errr.........
Well it's Mother's Day here in the Colonies Steve. Do you celebrate a similar "fabricated by Hallmark Inc." type holiday across the pond?
