Re: Testy Area 51

"Bambi meets Godzilla" must be the shortest 'movie' listed at the IMDB, it's a classic.

I watched Blade Runner the Final Cut, it's good to see the film looking so clear and sharp but I was still disappointed with it. Why? Well I was expecting Sir Ridley to add something... anything to the film to seperate it from previous versions, but what we have here is basically a spruced up version of the directors cut, with a bit more gore, synced dialogue and some remastered effects. This version is the darkest visually of the five included here. The effects shot where Deckard is hanging off the roof at the climax and you can see the street below, well you can barely make out the street now. It was already a dark film to begin with, now it's darker.

And I hated the change from "I want more life fucker" to "I want more life 'father'". Like I got hold of the tv version or something. Oh well at least I finally have my preferred cut on dvd in this set, the original 1982 theatrical, the one I saw at the cinema and dozens of times on video during the 80's, so I'm happy.

I like the idea of a cleaned up Blade Runner, without all that salty language...

I watched Rambo 3 for the first time yesterday... meaning I stayed awake past the 40 minute mark. Not a great movie, but interesting to watch now in our political climate. Rambos helping Afgani rebels it, it's hard not to think he's fighting for the wrong side. Best part was the line exchange:

Colonel : Can you fly that helicopter?
Rambo: I guess we'll find out.

This is followed with the scene of Rambo crashing said helicopter until it's a burned shell. Too funny. You take your laughs were you can get them folks

There's a great bit in one of the Blade Runner featurettes, interviewing Edward James Olmos who played Gaff in the film, he says something like "Is Deckard a Cylon... sorry Replicant? I don't know..." Perfect.

The chief's still with us Russ, that's a quote from the scene I posted.

When was the last time you saw Blade Runner?

You want to see Scarlet Johansson as Trinity in The Matrix? No problem -

Re: Testy Area 51

I saw the narration version once on VHS way way back when I was a we gaffer, and I saw the old directors cut when the wide screen version debuted on VHS. that's it... .why am I buying that case again ? XD

Pretty neat clip of Scarlette, though I have no problem with whoever it was in the original, names escaping me.

Carrie-Anne Moss played Trinity in the Matrix trilogy.
