Rick,
When you prepare a new post, there's a set of check boxes beneath the message-window. It says "Additional Options" and the first block is "Miscellaneous Options". Of that one, you need to
uncheck the second option: "Automatically parse links in text".
If you forgot that, you can edit your text to repair the damage.
Two URL's are in there: one has '< a href=" ' in front: delete that part (make sure only one double-quote remains after "value=" and also go to the ">" at the end of the URL and delete the rest up to the " < /a >" part.
Then, I found a second instance, but I'm not sure it will be there all the time, starting with "[ url=". You need to delete that part too, then go to the closing "]" and delete the tail up to the closing "[ /url ]".
That should do it.
But preventing it to happen (by un-checking the above mentioned option) is the easiest solution, of course.
