Geee whiz, Dennis!
In 1979, I was in my second year at Syracuse University--still trying to get girls to talk to me and you were helping end the cold war!
There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

This is a happy happy thread Steve. Besides I think it way cool to hear about our Navy and the arsensal we have floating around protecting us.
Dennis:
I would LOVE to hear what you and my countrymen did for US in 1991.

I love military technology. And all along, it was Dennis who was responsible for President Carter's first major blunder: the cancellation of the B-1. Oh well. We now have the B-1B, and one fine bomber she is.
So, Dennis, you've been protecting the country all this time? Amazing.
As for the Seawolf class of subs: Those things are practically science fiction. An entirely new form of submarine construction is required to build these amazingly high-tech boats.
But, in 1979, the world at large seemed so anti-technology. That will be a difficult year to recall. Linda evicting me from my dedicated music room. Linda telling me I'm spending too much time (and money) on my Honda CBX. Linda telling me I'm spending too much money (and time) on and with all those new "audiophile" direct-to-disc recordings from Crystal Clear, Mark Levinson, and Sheffield Labs. Linda coercing me into looking for a second job to pay for (*wretches when typing*) baby-related crap.
Awful, awful year.

I feel so.......inadequate.
