You know, Fred, if you keep your sense of humor like you do, you just might make it.

Each of these annual retrospectives are a piece of me, an artistic endeavor. How frustrating to see that I'm not the center of attention. All this for nothing. I feel so defeated. I'm going home.

Come on Jack, we love your yearly posts. [Jim Kirk mode] Jack they're the centerpiece... of this whole damn thread... it's the glue... that keeps this insanity together. Roll on... 1979[/Jim Kirk Mode]
Here's a 1979 film quote to get you in the mood...
RIPLEY: How do we kill it, Ash? There's gotta be a way of killing it. How, how do we do it?
ASH: You can't.
PARKER: Bullshit!
ASH: You still don't understand what you're dealing with, do you? A perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility.
LAMBERT: You admire it.
ASH: I admire its purity. A survivor unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality.
PARKER: Look, I've, I've heard enough of this and I'm asking you to pull the plug.
ASH: Last word. I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.

Jack, Jack, Jack. You, my friend, are having a bad day. Times are tough, but they'll get better. Soon that cold'll be gone, you'll be back at the top of your game, and we'll all be gathering 'round you at the piano singing songs of high praises about the talents and accomplishments of our good friend...Jack Briggs!
But, until that happens, here's a little something to cheer you up:
'Smile Darn ya smile,
You know this old world
Is a great world after all.
Smile Darn ya smile
And right away
Watch Lady Luck
Pay you a call
Things are never black
As they are painted
Time for you and joy
To get acquainted
Make life worthwhile
So, Smile, Darn you smile!
There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!
