This one's for Jack!!!

Cheer up, Jack. You know what they say.
Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
Don't grumble, give a wistle!
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...

(the music fades into the song)

...always look on the bright side of life!
(whistle)

Always look on the bright side of life...
If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten!
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing,

When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps,
Just purse your lips and whistle -- that's the thing!
And... always look on the bright side of life...

(whistle)
Come on!

(other start to join in)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(whistle)

For life is quite absurd,
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow!
Forget about your sin -- give the audience a grin,
Enjoy it -- it's the last chance anyhow!

So always look on the bright side of death!
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.

Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true,
You'll see it's all a show,
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you!

And always look on the bright side of life...
(whistle)
Always look on the bright side of life
(whistle)

* Sweetness and light. Group hug.

* Steve, that Kirk v. Picard excerpt (it's actually about a hundred posts long) has been floating around on the Internet since 1994.

* Yep, I'm really enjoying that "movies that put you to sleep" thread. One of the best ever to grace HTF. Makes us look groovy, don't it?

* The long-delayed 1978 retrospective is happening either tonight or tomorrow night, circumstances permitting. It will be worth the wait.

Parker:

32. [shouts] Khaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!*cough*cough*

Jack, and I've posted that list twice previously, always makes me smile.

And heres another oldie listie...

18 Things that never happened on Star Trek

1. The Captain has to make a difficult decision about a less advanced people and decides to blow it off and go fishing.

2. Commander Riker and Geordi decide to pull a practical joke on Wesley Crusher and beam him into the women's gymnasium shower room.

3. The Enterprise goes to visit a remote outpost of scientists, who are all perfectly alright.

4. The crew of the Next Generation sit around for an entire episode and watch reruns of the original Star Trek.

5. Over a period of two months, the entire crew of the Enterprise become infected with genital warts.

6. The Enterprise breaks down in deep space and has to be towed back to a star base by a garbage scow.

7. Guinan reveals that on her home planet, all she ever did was work at a McDonalds.

8. The warp engines start acting up a bit, and Geordi gets blown to bits when he drops his visor in an engine while fixing it.

9. The Enterprise runs into a mysterious energy field of a type it has encountered several times before.

10. Some of the crew visits the holodeck, and it works fine.

11. The Enterprise successfully ferries an alien VIP from one place to another without a serious incident.

12. An enigmatic being composed of pure energy attempts to interface with the Enterprise's computer, only to find out that it has forgotten to bring the right leads.

13. A power surge on the Bridge is rapidly and correctly diagnosed as a faulty capacitor by the highly-trained and competent engineering staff.

14. The Enterprise is captured by a vastly superior alien intelligence which does not put them on trial.

15. The Enterprise is captured by a vastly inferior alien intelligence which they easily pacify by offering it some sweeties.

16. A major Starfleet emergency breaks out near the Enterprise, but fortunately some other ships in the area are able to deal with it to everyone's satisfaction.

17. The Enterprise is involved in a bizarre time-warp experience which is in no way connected with the late 20th Century.

18. Counsellor Troi states something other than the bleedin' obvious.
