Advice on a Micro System.

Hi All,

So we are moving in the summer, and my home theater is going bye bye...

Right now I have Paradigm Fronts / Axiom rears and a Sony sub on my NAD receiver with a 57" Toshiba projection TV.

Nice system, but I simply don't have the room for it in my new place until I get my basement done.

So... I'm looking for some suggestions on the following...

I have a Hitachi 42" Plasma I'm going to hang over a gas fireplace (for which the gas will be turned off... kids.) and I need some good micro type speakers for the room. Probably 5.1. I'd like to keep my NAD receiver, but I may be replacing it with something that will do HDMI.

I've looked at a couple already... Bose (Just looked... I like the idea, but their system is VERY expensive.), Mirage, Sony DAV-IS10 for example.

Can somebody suggest a good set of micro type speakers that can suit my need?

-Mike

Re: Advice on a Micro System.

...good and "Micro" are mutually exclusive, I suppose. I have some Bose PC speakers that I hate, but I'm picky.

I'm quite partial to the Paradigm Cinema series personally. For basic tv watching and the occasional movie upstairs they seem to do the trick.

Re: Advice on a On Wall System

Thanks guys...

I guess Micro isn't really the term I should have used...

I'm looking at varous "on-wall" systems. I'd have no problems buying Paradigm again... VERY nice speakers.

I'm really looking hard at the Boston Acoustics P430 series. Very nice speakers, and good reviews.

It seems that there are "cheap" options and then multi-thousand dollar options... and I want something in between.

I hate to give up my Monitor 7's, but I'd never be able to mount that CC-370 center channel.

I am NOT considering Bose, I was just impressed with the quality of the sound in their demo. They have these giant grills over their little cubes, and play a movie demo. Then they come in and take off the grills. I was surprised, but right away I thought "If Bose can sound like that, I wonder what real speakers can sound like..."
