a simple questions....sub1 vs sub2

If you can please tell me which one of these I should go for, given the specs and at the SAME price.
I have the PIONEER VSX 454 receiver.

Buying a sub based on those descriptions would be like buying a car based on a TV commercial. Just because the marketing department says a sub will do something doesn't mean that it actually will. Can you audition one or both of those subs at your local big box store (Circuit City, Best Buy, etc)? And what happened to the Dayton that I recommended? At least that one has positive reviews from users of this forum. Always better than buying blind.

bud.......problem is I live in Canada.

For me, that sub would cost $139 + $90 = $229 (cheapest shipping + brokerage). Can't afford that. No other place has it either.

Umm...the ones I mentioned would cost me $125.

That's why there is an option in your profile to display your location. Until you said anything, I assumed like everyone else that you lived in the US.

And I stand by my suggestion of listening to them. Until you have heard good bass, you don't know what you are looking for.

I personally would take the Yamaha one over the Sony.

I would guesstimate the Dayton would have twice the output as the subs mentioned with it's advantage in sporting a 12" driver?? I dunno, it's been quite some time, but back in the day the Dayton held it's own against the WM-40 Sony 12" sub, which was the best bang for your buck sub at the time. It's out of your budget anyway, but (respectfully) if you go forward in this hobby, you will look back and laugh at all these options even though the Dayton is most likely twice the sub It would be fun to buy the Sony and the Yam just for kicks and see how they stack-up though.

Is it okay if I toss in two more names here.

The dayton you suggested is over my budget..........but still........ I am kinda considering it. After all....you guys have such high opinion about it.

But what if I can get "BIC America V-1220 12-Inch 430-Watt Down-Firing Powered Subwoofer" for the same price........is it a better deal than dayton?

And what do you guyz think about "BIC H-100"? It will cost even more than the above two subs.

Just wanna get some opinions..........then I can make up my mind
