Axiom EP500 v2 vs SVS Sub

I narrowed it down to two sub companies, Axiom and SVS. The wife was looking at my choices of subs and she seems to really like the EP500. Now, which SVS sub is comparable in bass to this? I'm looking for Bass that will hit me in the chest and shake the house. Is the EP500 what I'm looking for? My room is 14W x 20L x 8H and pretty much open.

Re: Axiom EP500 v2 vs SVS Sub

Your room is only 2240^3 feet. I have a HSU 2.3 (250w/1000w peak) in a room that is only 1320^3 feet. Even with my receiver LFE level at -3, I still cannot turn the volume knob past 9 o'clock in normal listening. Way too much bass. I have no experience with the Axion however; if you are looking to spend that kind of money and want a lot of bass, you have a ton of options. For example, you could squeeze out a couple more hundred and get the SVS PB 13 ultra http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-pb13ultra.cfm
or the pb12 plus or pb12 plus/2 http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-plus.cfmor you could get 2 HSU 2.3 or even 2 3.3s if you just like that sort of thinghttp://www.hsuresearch.com/subwoofers.html I know you were only looking at the SVS and axiom so I am just making a suggestion. All of these have variable tuning for lower extension which I have come to appreciate. I am sure that my sub is way too much for my room so I am sure that all suggested here will shake your house. I just believe you can get a lot more for your money. These are just my thoughts. Hope this helps
