What's up with Morrow Audio
I saw these speakers on Audiogon (see the link: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls....ull&1188344212 ). I'm not actually considering buying them but there's just so much about these that is different from every other speaker on Earth that I wanted somebody else's opinion. Like:
Is it ever good to be without crossovers? I'm sure there's some impedence in a crossover but wouldn't that just mean that you have to turn your volume up a slight bit to compensate? You wouldn't actually lose sound detail, would you?
A single driver? For everything? No tweeter? No mid-range? Can this be beneficial? They say it is because the brain will focus on the nearest source of sound, but I can't see how focusing on a single source would be better than, say, not.
Finally, an up-firing bass driver? I've only seen down or front-firing (except in cylinder subs I suppose). Is there any sound reason for this or is it just because it's too easy for an up-pointed driver to receive dust and my spilled gin and tonic?
And all this for only $1400? I'm just curious if these speakers are a huge joke or if they're some kind of pearl of simplicity. Thanks.
Matt
