B&W LCR 60 S3's or 602 S3's for the fronts?

Hello Everyone,
Wanted to see if anyone has experimented with 3 LCR 60 S3's (L/C/R) in front compared to 602 S3's (L/R) with an LCR 60 S3 center. I am going to audition them myself, but wanted to see if anyone else has and what you thought. If it matters my L/R have to be placed about 5 inches away from my 55" rear CRT, and if the magnetic shielding of the LCR 60 S3's may help that. Thanks.

although b&w does suggest that the lcr60 is appropriate for left, right and centre applications, the manual recommends that that the left and right speakers be placed between 50 and 100 cm from the television.

The LCR600 is a much better option than the LCR60.

+/3 db frequency response
dm 600 75--22k
dm 601 60--22k
dm 602 49--22k

lcr60 70--22k
lcr600 60--22k

Yes, yes, frequency response is a poor method of judging a speaker.

Re: B&W LCR 60 S3's or 602 S3's for the fronts?

I just tried out BW LCR60 for the center channel along with 4 601s for the front and surrounds. The 601s could not be closer than about 16 from the 27" CRT TV. The LCR60 center was directly above and caused no problems with the picture. (I tried it alongside the tv to check and also no problems). I tried the system with a Rotel 1057 AVR which sounded great in the store with both 601 and 602s. In the house was another story. Evidently the room is very bright and the Rotel not a very warm receiver. Ended up trying 602s with Marantz 7001 and that sounded very good in the room but the receiver did not blend subwoofer nearly as well as the Rotel. Wound up returning whole system because no time left in refund period to try to work out problems with Marantz.
602s sounded great compared to 601s for my room but the 602s should be
20" away from CRT. Very powerful magnets on 602. From using the LCR60 as a center I would say that they can't compare to the full and accurate sound you would get from 602s. Never tried the LCR600.
Hope this helps.
