used vs new sub/sat sys - better value?
I am putting together my first home theatre system (upgrading from a 70's vintage stereo system). I plan to keep my old 12" 3 ways for stereo listening but want to pick up a sub/sat set for home theatre.
I have an opportunity to pick up a used 7.1 Boston micro sub/sat set for around $350 ( 4 micro 90x, 1 micro 90c, 2 vrs micro dipoles, 1 8" powered sub). How might these compare with using the same $350 for a set of new minis (any brand). Is this a good way to go, or not? Suggestions/comments appreciated.
