SVS Withour Bass Plate: Anyone Doint It?

It's interesting that some of the SVS ads show the sub without the bass plate. Is anyone using it that way?

Thanks

Are we talking cubes or cylinders?

The PB-10 doesn't have a base plate that sits on the floor because it is front firing/ front ported, if that is what you're talking about?

I believe it shows it that way only so you see the woofer. I did however read a recent post where someone suggested it because the sub was in sort of a recessed area. I wouldn't recommend it.

I am. PB12-ISD/2 with drivers facing the wall. It was the best sound for that location. When I had a 16-46 CS+ I tried it with it on its side with pretty good results. Placement was a little tough like that though.

Actually plenty of users are. It all depends on your room and placement what your best FR response will be. In most cases it might change the curve little, but nothing major. Like I mentioned though, it's very room dependent if it's worth it or not? Some also like the look of the driver facing out.
