Looking for CRAZY ROOM SHAKING bass...

Looking for bass that will provide pressure in a fairly 600sq. foot room. It will be used with JBL e90s and a HK-3480 receiver. I want it loud and I want it to hurt. SPL is more important over SQ, but nobody likes muddy sounding bass.

Considerations:

1) 2 Dayton 12" = Around $300 shipped
2) 2 JBL E250s = Around $500 shipped
3) Dayton 15" Titanic kit = Around $700 shipped

Any other considerations would be great...

I used to own a dayton 12. I now have a SI mag 15 and it is 10 times better than the dayton. I have my sub hooked up to a plate amp putting out around 1000rms and I am sure it would be good enough for a 600 sq ft room. Mine is in a 400 and I can't even turn it up all the way without thinking the walls are going to fall down. If you are going to spend around $400-500 I would consider it. If you are looking for a decent sub for 120 just go with a dayton though. Personally I just was never happy with it.

I'm mostly leaning towards the Dayton Titanic MIII... does anyone have any experience with this subwoofer?

For the money they aren't worth it. But if money isn't a big deal and you want something that comes in an enclosure already and easy to use, then go for it.

I am going to have to buy one of these svs subs. I can't imagine it would be any better than what I have now and the prices are incredibly high. I doubt it will even be better than an Adire Tumult.

Incredibly high prices?!?!

Compared to DIY, sure. Because you don't consider your labor as part of the cost. Point me to the pre-made subs that will outperform SVS in the same price range. Hsu and a few others will meet or maybe slightly pass SVS in some of the various price ranges offered, but I don't think there's much of anything that will provide significantly better performance for a lower price.

You can't compare a raw driver to a completed sub. The enclosure will make a huge difference in whether or not it will be "better".

Ok I get it now. I have been building enclosures for a few years now so it isn't a big deal to me. I do understand that there is extra labor involved when buying a raw driver. I guess if you don't know anything about box building then it is better to just pay more and go with one that comes already made for you.

And I have a SI mag 15.

I highly doubt 2 Dayton 12" will give you crazy room shaking bass. If DIY is not an option, and you really do prefer spl over sound quality, and you want crazy spl, it sounds like you want a pro subwoofer, something like this:

That CV unit won't need much amp either...106dB/1w. Pick up a cheap 100w amp and you could expect 120dB or so. Extension might not be that great...but it will hit pretty hard from about 40hz and up..
