volume controls

I'm going to wire my house sound. I want to run speakers from the receiver in my TV room to the kitchen, but I want to include a volume control in the kitchen. The thing is how do I run the wires to conect the control?

Is this a finished kitchen??? Have you ever done any wiring of any type in a house??? Is there attic (or under house for pier and beam) access above/below both the kitchen and the room where the wiring is coming from???

It's a new construction. Right now is being framed, but by next week I should be able to go and wire it.

I have not had good luck with them though. Anymore, I do distribution amps that allow a volume control to be wired back the channel/amp.
