Simple 3-way crossover help...


I need help designing a 3way crossover for around 10 bux. i know its a cheap budget but maybe we can work with it. THe crossover needs to be realivly simple and just needs to block low freqs going to the tweeter and highs to the woofer. The woofers of choice are...

Crossovers are anything but simple if you want it to actually sound good. The fact is, for something like this, why not just pick up one of PE's standard 3-way X-overs?

To get anything worth building I think you're going to have to raise your budget to at least $100 for a pair.

It's too bad Sound Clearing House went under. They had a nice kit around the $100 mark too.

Post in the DIY area. People there might be able to recommend a few other ~$100 kits out there.

Also, if you really want to attempt designing your own, go to the library and check out the Loud Speaker Design Cookbook by Vance Dickanson.

$30 per speaker will be VERY difficult if you want them to sound decent. Here are some proven designs but most are still more than your budget.
