speaker phase question

The electrician who prewired my house used wire that is not marked in any way. How can I tell which to hook up to positive and which to hook to negative.

Very simple solution: have the electrician come back and figure it out for you, and label everything.

Get a cheap volt/ohm meter (10 bucks or so) if you don't already have one. Tape one end of the speaker wires to a 9 volt battery and test the other ends with the meter. Mark them as positive and negatine.
