Hello again,

I'm in the process of auditioning two VERY similar subwoofers for HT use. I've posted two separate FR charts below. The first chart depicts compensated SPL vs. Frequency for each sub at Location 1. The second chart depicts compensated SPL vs. Frequency for each sub at Location 2. In an effort to keep the feedback objective I'll refer to them as Sub A and Sub B. Feel free to send me a PM if you would like me to reply with the contenders.

Based on FR alone I would like to know:

What is the best Subwoofer and Location combination?
What are the most 'EQ friendly' sub/location combinations?
How should I shape my house curve if I decide to hook up a BFD?
Test setup-

Sub A and B were calibrated to 85 dB at each location using Avia pink noise. Only the FR and FL channels were in use during the SPL readings. Speakers were set to small and crossover was set to 80 Hz within my AVR. Master volume was set so the SPLM read 92 dB at 56 Hz. Subwoofer channel level was set to -5.

Thanks all!

I would take sub A (PB12) and place it to location 2, as I said earlier... Why? SVS is superior at lower range.

You should tame that 56Hz peak and also some of that 22-45Hz bump. Maybe little boost at 71Hz.

Thanks Ilkka - but shhh! I'm trying to keep the identities a secret.

So what should my "house curve starting point" be?

Jason, come on, people are not that stupid...

You can try ~80-100Hz.
