Would someone Demo Ascend CBM-170's for me in the CT, NY, MA area?
I've been doing research on a new speaker system. It's come down to either Onix Rockets, HTD Series Three, or Ascend.
I'm leaning toward the Ascend CBM-170 for fronts, with the CMT-340C for the center and HTM-200's for surrounds and rear. Before buying I'd really like to hear them first.
Anyone out there in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island or Massachusetts willing to let a complete stranger into your home to listen to your Ascend speakers? :b

Dave....there are people in those areas with Ascends.
If you go to the Ascend Forum..... www.ascendforum.com you will find a list.
The forum in down right now...but should be back up in a day or so....hopefully.

He is back now, and as it turns out it is a problem at the cheap hosting company we use. Cheap hosting = bad service. We hope it will get rectified soon.
Anyways, I second Tony's trial suggestion. No place like home for a demo.

Ascend subsidizes shipping to you so it is $8 to you for just a pair of 170s. If you return them you'll out ~$25 total for shipping but will get 30 days in your home with your gear to evaluate them. If there isn't anyone really close to you it may be cheaper to pay shipping than travel costs.
