speaker wires

Hey guys,

I found this link, http://www.venhaus1.com/diycatfivecables.html

In my other post, I was asking about positioning my sub to the best location. But I remember that I don't have a long cable. So I researched google to find good places to buy speakers wires(ie. 12awg). But, going back to the link above, it's a network cable, Category 5. I have cat5 cables at home and thinking of converting them to speaker wires. So, can anyone comment on that site please?

Thanks.

Neil

Hey guys,

Forget about that above post.

Now, I need a recommendation for a subwoofer(svs) cable that is affordable but does a good job. Currently, I am using Acoustic Research 15' subwoofer cable. I need something like 25' - 30'.

Thanks guys.

I don't know what others would say about this, but I also needed a 30' sub cable and couldn't find one for under $100 bucks in my local stores. What I ended up doing is buying a set of 20' RCA cables from radio shack for $21.99 and a barrel connector for about $3. Separate the RCA cables and you have two 20' sub cables. Use the barrel connector to join them, and there you have it. 40' of sub cable that works like a charm.
