Dayton sub blowing fuses
hi all,
i've got the dayton 10" sub. i got mine in feb 2003, back when the initial frenzy for these kicked in. at the time, the auto off feature was not working properly, and i got a swapped out amp for free. great service, no hassle, totally wonderful. the sub performs as billed, and i love it. but now it seems fried. it blew it's fuse, and i replace the fuse and that one got blown too, so im guessing there is something wrong with the power supply. i want to keep this sub, and was wondering:
1. can anyone recommend a debug procedure for me to try to isolate the problem? im an engineer, ive got a multimeter, but im not an EE and know little/nothing about circuits.(basic Ohm's law stuff, blah blah.) assume i know zero.
2. anyone else have this problem?
3. anyone know if i can just replace the power supply unit? (i'd want to use #1 above to verify that it is bad.)
thanks,
hal
