Paradigm's subs

hi all
i've been preparing to buy the servo-15 for a year now, (there's allways something more important to buy, before a behemoth sub...), and now there's 2 more subs in paradigm's arsenal. the sysemic 12 and servo-signature.
the signature is too expensive (probably, didnt see it yet), but what about the 12? is it suposed to be a more compact design than the servo?
thanks!

They have close performance but the servo has a much larger footprint. I also had the same choice and went with the servo because i felt it had more umph under 20 hz and since its 70/30 ht to music i felt it was the best choice for me but i also didn't care how big it was cause i have a big room. In fact I loved it so much i bought another servo, The best ht decision i ever made. It'll bust up those kidney stones better than ultrasound, I'll be pain free for years

Good luck with your purchase!

Don't be cheap, get this:

Paradigm seems to make some very good subs. I know if you are Canadian (you are from Israel I see), I know they are a great value as you don't get nailed for taxs

Obviously out of those 3 the Sig is best, but IMHO, I like the Servo 15 over the Seismic 12.

I listened to both in store, and found when comparing the two, I thought the seismic sounded more 'sloppy'

Could've just been set up errors however. They were both side by side in a fairly large room.

According to tests done by Tom Nousaine, the Servo-15 will go lower, but the Seismic 12 will output more SPL.

Have a look at the S&V review of the 40v3 system, including the Seismic-12, located here:
http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/art...&page_number=1
more specifically the tests results in pdf format:
http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/ass...2004145136.pdf

Also a HTF member maintains a page of Tom's results of Sub tests here:
http://members.cox.net/frankcarter/T...Sub%20Data.htm

FYI - I have had a Servo-15 for just less than a year now and love it. Have not heard the Seismic-12, but am very impressed with the low freq punch of the Servo. As Nathan says, the 15 is not small (H50 x W46 x D58cm, 41kg).
Seismic-12 is H37.5 x W36.2 x D36.2 cm, 30.4kg.

In the end for a higher price you can go with an extra db or so of gain and a smaller footprint with the Seismic-12, but I think you would probably be happier with the lower output of the Servo IMHO.
