Pulsing noise from my sub!

I have an 8" Velodyne powered sub. When it is turned on there is a low pitched (duh!) fairly low volume pulse/beep that comes from it. Perhaps 10-15s between each sound. It does this when the sub is hooked up to the amp and when the line in signal is removed. So it clearly is the sub. Is this something we just have to live with? Or is this a fault with the sub?

Thanks!

Sounds like a problem with the sub. All subs should be quiet when no signal is fed to them and you mention it makes this noise with the line in cable is removed.

Best regards.

Have you tried powering it from another outlet in your house to rule out dirty hydro?

Send a message via MSN to JeremySt
I had a Velodyne HGS sub that did the exact same thing along time ago. I had to send the amp module into Velodyne. It was under warranty, so no big deal. I think it was a blown resistor or something (?).

I would contact Velodyne directly. They are very easy to work with. http://www.velodyne.com/velodyne/contact/

I am still a loyal Velodyne fan.

Sounds like the amp is going/gone.
