JBL HT, Jamo A3 or E6, Cerwin-Vega V series?
I'm looking at purchasing my first home theater system (mid-range budget), most likely a 5.1, using an HK-130 receiver. I believe I've narrowed down my search to four possibilities: JBL HT, Jamo A3 or E6 (610-670), or Cerwin-Vega V (v6, 12, 15, etc). I'm wondering if anyone would have any recommendations. I've got an 11.6 x 15.7 Family room connected to the kitchen (open concept--no doors). Many come with packaged subwoofers so I'm not sure if this would change your recommendation.
Second, is there a strong difference between having a tower speaker or bookshelf speaker in front? There's some good range among models in terms of wattage, with even some Bookshelfs being larger than some Towers. Does it really matter or should I solely be looking at wattage?
Finally, does it really matter what level of impedance, sensitivity, frequency, or x-over a speaker has? I'm trying to understand whether I should be looking at higher or lower values for these (sorry if it sounds like a stupid question--I'm a newbie and haven't really found out the answer on the web).
Thanks in advance.
