Center channel for JBL S38II

Well, I think I've given up on trying to find the JBL S-center and moving on to try to find a center channel that would be a good match with the 2 pair S38II's. I've thought about another pair of S38II'sf or the center/rear center but they are too big. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Jason

Shameless plug...

There are two JBL S-Center (Series I) Studio speakers for sale on Ebay right now. I am selling one of them. It is in great shape with original manual and box. Take a look...

Brandon,

What are you looking to get for it? Are you willing to end it early for the right price?

Jason,

I don't sell a lot on Ebay, so I am not sure what the rules are for ending an auction early. If you are familiar with them just drop me an email and we can discuss it from there. Thanks.

Brandon

If that does not work, go for an s26 pair even.

Another recommendation is you could use the S36 for Center duties.

Read JBL product description from 5 September 03 / JBL - CEDIA 2003 - dba-newsline ...

Quote:
(partial copy from the above link)

The S36IIPM is ideal for use in a five-speaker home theater system as the front-left, center , right-front, and left and right surround channels, ...

All JBL S-Series speakers are timbre-matched so the above option will work.

I heard from some using all S36-IIPM's around w/sub and love the REF Calibrated HT sound, ... how little space they take up around their Plasma Monitor / HT room and how easy it is to wall mount them.

Phil,

Is the S36IIPM in silver a new speaker?

It was listed in that CEDIA 2003 news release.

Why would they come out with a new S36 and discontinue the rest of the Studio line?

Hey Norman, here's what JBL Internet Support Specialist emailed me (Oct. '03) explaining their preliminary plans ...

Quote:
The Studio Series speakers are slowly being phased out, as there will be a newer, more expensive line of Studio speakers. This new line will probably not be introduced until early next year, and will be different than the previous model. JBL is also introducing the new Northridge "E" Series, which will be replacing the current Northridge and Studio speakers. The JBL S36AW/II (all-weather), and S36IIPM (plasma monitor) speakers will remain current, as they are designed for specific applications.

So, JBL introduced the S36IIPM - same as previous S36II but with a new color to blend in with most Plasma Cabinet 'silver' color.

The 'newer' S(?)-Series will sport their PRO Studio Monitor like 1" Pure Titanium dome tweeter w/EOS waveguide.

Wouldn't the EC35 be the next logical choice? It is almost identical to the S-CenterII.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to find a CC for 2 sets of ND310II's. At this point I'm really leaning towards the EC35.

Is the EC35 a two way and the S-CenterII is a 3 way?
